B's 4th Birthday Royal Soiree

B has known for months that she wanted a princess party, not a Disney princess party, a 'Royal Princess' party.  It all started with the invitations...
Her royal invitations were perfect for a 'Royal' Birthday party.  B and C helped with the invitations.  C stamped the crowns and B helped emboss the paper and glue.

B was also very specific about what she wanted for her cupcakes.  The cake and frosting had to be pink, so we made pink lemonade cupcakes.  A friend of ours makes amazing cupcake wraps and B has had her eye on the pink glitter ones for months.  So we knew that we had to have the glitter cupcake wraps.  The wraps definitely made her cupcakes princess worthy.

Theresa also made us these adorable crown cupcake toppers to match B's invitations.  They were the perfect touch for the cupcakes.  B was so excited when Nana finished icing her cupcakes and we put the toppers in each one.

The weather was beautiful so we decided to move the party to the backyard.  We had yummy snacks out for the kids along with pink lemonade to drink.  After the kids snacked it was time to play!!

As a craft we decided to make paper crowns and princess hats.  We had lots of stickers, ribbon and tulle to decorate each one.   The kids had so much fun wearing their new hats (a few of the parents wore them too).

Once everyone had their fill of playing, it was time for the pink castle pinata.  We don't normally do pinatas at birthday parties but Nana insisted this year.  Since the party was outside it was the perfect party activity.

After letting each kid take multiple hits at the well-made pinata, Dad finally decided just to rip it open, much to the kids delight.

Soon it was time for cupcakes.  All of the kids were very excited to finally be able to dig into the cake.  The frosting was a bit tart but that didn't stop anyone from eating them.  We had none left over.

 Then it was present time....

It was a wonderful party, simple but perfect for our fun-loving girl.  I must admit I was exhausted afterwards and we still had three more birthday parties to attend the same weekend.  Now to start planning the boys' birthdays.
